Old Peculier is a beautiful, yet very simple beer, brewed using a very generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley with two bitter hops combined with the majestic and noble ‘Fuggle’ hop to produce a beer of awesome full-bodied flavour with subtle cherry and rich fruit overtones. It tastes superb when accompanied by rich stews, strong cheeses and sweet puddings.

Dark brown with a ruby hue and a creamy tan head. Over-chilled so took time for the fruit and malt flavours to come through, but once they did it’s a decent rich malty ale with sweet dark fruits and just a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Cask at Old Trip, Notts. Aroma is sweet and vinegary. Darkest clear brown. Creamy beige head. Sugary. Malty. Sour fruit. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft. Long slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable easy drinking stuff.

Bottle from Captain Cooks, Östersund. Reasonably attractive dark appearance ans a little sweet but all the lovely parts of the beer are sadly outbalanced by the a distinctive macro tinny taste. I imagine its a beautiful cask beer.
