A full-bodied stout with a velvety mouthfeel. Bursting with aromas of roasted malt and chocolate. A hint of smokiness. Our Milk Stout combines a 250-year commitment to brewing dark beers with a determination to never stop innovating.
Marrying the deep roast characteristics of Guinness Draught with lactose sugar results in a unique stout with a subtle sweetness. Slight hints of caramel toffee are balanced by a subtle bitterness. Distinctly complex and best enjoyed in the company of an old friend.

From the bottle. Virtually black with a frothy, tan head. Aroma is full of toast but very little beyond that. Taste is bittersweet with a bit of cigarette smoke and lactose sweetness lingering on the tongue afterwards. Body is smooth, mild carbonation, medium. Overall, not bad.

Bottle from Cooperative Supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Black with a thin off-white head. Smoothish with a mid nutty roasted malt aroma, with a lot less of the nuttiness in taste.

500ml bottle. Was hoping this would be nitro. Pours an inky black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. Taste is the same, nice thick mouthfeel, long bitter finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Milk Stout on 21 May 2018 at 17:49 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: 500ml bottle at home. Pours an inky black, slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of toffee and burnt toast. Taste is toffee and caramel with some chocolate and toast notes. Nice smooth mouthfeel and pleasant finish.

30/3/2018. Bottle from Tesco, Martlesham. Pours very dark brown with a small lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, lactose, dark fruits, chocolate, light coffee and hint of berry. Medium plus sweetness, light roasted bitterness, slight hint of sour. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Not a great but best Guinness branded beer I've had.

Black beer, thick off-white head. A hefty aroma of toasted malt and coffee. Tastes of malt, coffee, liquorice, toffee. This is a lovely rich stout with a nice blend of a bit of sugary sweetness to offset the Earthy, toasty bitterness of the other flavours. Really nice.

500ml bottle; BB 13th July 18. Poured (twice) into a Gordon's Thistle shaped glass at home on 13th Feb 18. Black body, full tanned blanket on top, looked lovely on both pours, the glass obviously helping with the visuals. Malty and milky, smooth and pretty rich body wise, some milky sweetness and not so 'toasted/roasted' in flavour as a normal Guinness. Liked it.
