This chestnut-coloured beer is brewed using pale ale and crystal malt, which gives it a full-bodied flavour. A finely balanced hop character is enriched by the late addition of Styrian Goldings to give a prominent floral hop aroma and fuller flavour.

Bottle at home. I used to drink loads of these, but this is the first since I started keeping records. It's a typical English bitter; perfectly drinkable with a low abv, but nothing special

500mml. Bottle. Bought for 1€. Tasted on the 28/08/2018 at home. Clear red amber color with a low and disappearing white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, slight toffee and brown bread. Taste is similar with a fizzy carbonation and a medium sweet finish. Sweet malt aftertaste. Slightly metallic. Next one please!

Cask half pint at The Lamplighter, St. Helier. Served at room temperature. Copper colour. Malty aroma and flavour, not very interesting. Might sample again if colder.

As your run of the mill amber bitter goes this is pretty solid. Bitter hop, malt, a dash of citrus. Nowt special but there's nothing wrong with it either.

Can, 0.5l. Clear amber pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Good retention, thick lacing on the glass. Nose is strong caramel, grains and grassy hops in the background. Nicely herbal. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. Light mouthfeel, soft texture. Mild bitter, a bit stronger in the sweet side. Aroma is malty, strong caramel and toffee. Lots of herbal notes, nicely peppery. Vague honey. Medium lasting finish, herbal and mildly bitter. Overall, decent bitter. A bit on the sweet side, but ok.
