Brewed with 100% Citra hops that create aromas of mango, apricot, grapefruit & mandarin orange, along with a lasting, juicy, tropical fruit bitterness, the Baby-Faced Assassin is a deceptively quaffable India Pale Ale that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Straight from the can, which was purchased at Whole Foods Piccadilly. The colour is most probably amber with a white head. This is an presumption which I believe is statistically most likely. The nose is grassy, light herbal, spicy, pissy hops, peach, apricot and bready malts. The taste is bitter, pine needles, varnish, past, bitter-sweet, earth, grassy, light caramel, toasty, peach and bready malts with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not bad at all.

BBE 01/09/15 - Pours golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of caramely malts, crisp grassy hops, pine, resin and hints of toffee. Taste is smooth, crisp and malty with some grassy hops, pine, resin and caramel. Finish is malty, crisp and bitter with some grassy notes, pine and resin. Okay malty but not very hoppy IPA..

330ml can. Minimally cloudy, golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy, floral, hoppy aroma, spicy notes of hay. Taste is grassy, herbal, floral and fruity hoppy, notes of juniper berries, pineapple, slightly sweet pale malty basis. Some untypical flavours - good.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 9 May 2015) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots and orange peel. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, apricots, sweet and chewy malt, and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made, deceptively drinkable for its strength. Nice one.

Can at Draft House Hammersmith, London, Saturday 2nd May 2015 in the company of Jackie and Simon Pours golden with good clarity and a mid sized clean white head. Mostly orange (sweet clementine?) on the nose, but a little floral also. Juicy orange in the mouth with a little pithy edge, zesty, and with a nice bitterness, the finish runs to a slight dryness. Very good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
