With the help of British Airways cabin crew, BrewDog founders Martin Dickie and James Watt, started the brewing process of this limited run beer on board one of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while cruising 500mph over the north of Scotland.
The expert brewers mixed water, hops and barley in the onboard beverage makers to start the mashing part of the brewing process.
Cans of the bespoke IPA, named Speedbird 100 after the airline’s call sign, will be exclusively available to British Airways customers on board all long-haul and short-haul flights and in selected lounges from 1 May.

Can at Craig's. Pours golden yellow, nose is lemon, sherbert, toffee, taste is sweet, citrus, bubblegum, ok.

Can. A- Citrus, juicy, pineapple, mango. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Juicy, mild bitterness, tropical citrus, juicy fruit gum. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Happy to have tried this. Denver to London B747. Cool back story. Hard to smell as always so on a plane but tasted nice. Tried to bring back one to a bottle share but customs was not having that.

[33cl can drunk at 36,000 feet over the Atlantic on BA318 to Los Angeles.] An amber pour with a thick cream head; tropical fruit aroma; smooth in the mouth with some tropical fruit flavours and a sweet creamy caramel malt body; then a light dry bitterness with some grass and herbs. Mellow and suiting the occasion (and the altitude).

Can on BA flight to Palermo, 28th May 19. Pours orange and clear. Aroma is citrus, floral and some pine. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, pine, a little resin. Enjoyable

Can on a Zurich to Heathrow flight following a day trip to Switzerland for meetings. Terrible pour into the plastic cup but it did look good. The taste was complex with lots of hops and a really rich maltiness and it really hit the spot.

Can via BD online. It pours clear amber with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, resinous, oily citrus, grapefruit, brown bread, pine and dull toffee. The taste is bitter - sweet, resinous, oily, sticky, pine, pithy, zesty citrus, grapefruit, orange peel, light sherbet, peppery spice, slightly floral and just a touch of brown bread malt base. Finish is lingering bitter - dry. Nice west coast style session IPA. old-school BD style with a decent bitter bite.
