With the help of British Airways cabin crew, BrewDog founders Martin Dickie and James Watt, started the brewing process of this limited run beer on board one of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while cruising 500mph over the north of Scotland.

The expert brewers mixed water, hops and barley in the onboard beverage makers to start the mashing part of the brewing process.

Cans of the bespoke IPA, named Speedbird 100 after the airline’s call sign, will be exclusively available to British Airways customers on board all long-haul and short-haul flights and in selected lounges from 1 May.

(Can, 0.33 l - BB 06.07.2020, on a BA flight, 20191014) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had pine, caramel and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, caramel, malts, toffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. A nice malty brew with hop bite.

Many thanks to Martin for bringing this from his flight. Shared in Baku 🇦🇿. Fantastic nose of passion fruit and pineapple. Fantastic fruity with lots of tropical fruit. Bitterness is low, the body is moderate grainy with sweetish parts. Fantastic mild with a great fruity ending. Fantastic.

Can split at L6, thanks to New Ken for sourcing this want, 27/06/19. Clear golden to light copper with an off white covering. Nose is tangerine, grass, citric pith, airy malts. Taste comprises orange peel, citric tinged straw, grass, toasted grains, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent easy going hop juice.

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Rd, Edinburgh. Appearance - amber with neat lacing. Looks like it could be cask. Nose - pear and mango. Then pineapple. Taste - mango confirmed. Melon and passion fruit. Papaya and lime finish. Palate - creamy in texture. Light to medium bodied. Lovely nalancwd bitterness. Overall - it's a winner.

Can from BrewDog online store. While on ground this is more than enjoyable IPA with loads of citruses within even though it's quite simple. On board it must be a completely different story considering classic Heineken like offer. Thumbs up for me

Level 6 bottleshare. Can. Thanks to New Ken. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thin but smooth malts, a light sweetness. Floral tangerine. Modest orange. Light piney finish. Nice but lacks a palate and lacks a hop brightness.
