With the help of British Airways cabin crew, BrewDog founders Martin Dickie and James Watt, started the brewing process of this limited run beer on board one of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while cruising 500mph over the north of Scotland.
The expert brewers mixed water, hops and barley in the onboard beverage makers to start the mashing part of the brewing process.
Cans of the bespoke IPA, named Speedbird 100 after the airline’s call sign, will be exclusively available to British Airways customers on board all long-haul and short-haul flights and in selected lounges from 1 May.

...a szegény ember speedbirdje megvan? már látom hipotetikus szemeim előtt, ahogy a punkok a torock előtt autókat törnek fel, hogy aztán a multivitaminos ablaktörlőfolyadékot kispriccelve nyakalják mint torkosborz a mézet.

Many thanks to Erzengel for this 33cl can. A almost clear deep amber beer with a off white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruit juice, tangerine. Taste of grapefruit, zest, tangerine, bitter resinous hops.

Not bad! Not so hoppy but nice spiky maltiness. Much better than the other offered airplane beers. Although I didn’t actually manage to get this on a plane.

330ml can from Brewdog. Orangey gold colour, large white foamy head leaving lacing and aroma of zesty orange, sherbert. Taste is pale malt, caramel, alittle biscuit, with orangey citrus, zest, hop bitterness. Slightly watery mouthfeel, light bodied, medium carbonation, dry orange bitter finish. Quite OK.

Rocky off white head left a good froth on light reddish brown still body. Well balanced aroma with resin, berry & malt. Medium bodied, soft over the tongue with a sharp back & cloying aft. Berry, spices, tea, malt, sweet citrus & a tangy finish.
