Sour Ale w/ Blueberry & Lactose. Dripping with fruit flavor, this sour ale finishes with a touch of smooth sweetness thanks to a dose of lactose sugar.

Pours a purpleish red color that my wife said was beet juice red. The aroma is of blueberries almost a cream. Maybe that's the lactose. It seems thin but that gets better as it warms. The berries and malts are mildly sweet.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/25/2019. Pours opaquely hazy/cloudy dark ruby red/purple color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy pink head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Mild fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an excellent milkshake sour. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mildly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; awesomely soft feel. Awesome balance of super juicy/jammy berries and Lacto complexity; with a perfectly balanced lactose, and wheat/malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected.
