16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 4/2019. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a small dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, kiwi, peach, pear, watermelon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, candy sugar, wheat, cracker, white bread, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruit candy, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, kiwi, peach, pear, watermelon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, candy sugar, wheat, cracker, white bread, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and bitter/spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, kiwi, peach, pear, watermelon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, candy sugar, wheat, cracker, white bread, peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit candy, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sour/tangy balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit candy, and bitter/spiciness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a fantastic flavored kettle sour. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit candy, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic. Fantastic balance of fruit rollups and lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp acidic dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding experimental style example as expected.
