Sample at Pies & Pints during the Wolf's Ridge at Pies Worthington! event on 03/06/2019. Slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, herbal hop and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle in a flute. From vintage, nice place, nice help; usually. Big bitter rubber inner tube sensations all while sipping the thick nectar of pine needles and unripe green grapefruit rind. Nose is right up it. Terribly on style IPA. Really gets up yer noggin. Think; what does bitter green taste like? This is it. Its going to ruin my taste buds with bitter resonating resin sap all up and down my sides. Spread it on. Go head. WTF? Rude, nasty get mean in the middle. Like IPA? I hate it, so ignore the numbers, you need to taste, will never ferget. This goes on the bucket list mah-fah. Very fresh too! Made two weeks ago! Oh my, what else can be said, humiliating! Will not forget. Very impressive, yet not impressed; whatever.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/1/2019. Pours slightly hazy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a delicious IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Awesome Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balancing dark/bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on Midwest style example.
