Our Tart & Fruit Series is the perfect place to showcase boysenberries, a strange and wonderful hybrid of blackberries and raspberries. The jammy juiciness of 12 pounds per barrel of real boysenberries is balanced with a refreshing pucker.

Sampled from a can this beer poured a salmon color with a huge foamy pink-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was funky and musty with egg white, yeast and sourish vague berry. The flavor was tart and tangy with mixed berries and yeast. Long finish. Medium body.

$2 can from vintage, heheheh, I'm pretty sure I rated this already but what ever. Pour is pink thru me glass. So far so good, taste is purdy good, enjoyable, nicely done. Quite tasty, not bad. Maybe better than expected. Gose down easy with nice carbonation, no pun intended! Perhaps as good as the local's north country in the ol' slippy-rock. Thanks toaddie, I'm liking this.

Pours light red with a pink head. Aroma of salt and tart berries. Taste is refreshingly light with a slight tart note on the back of the tongue. Palate has very small hints of lactose and salt. Good.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; canned on 2/18/2019, best before 6/19/2019. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber, light reddish/pinkish color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy, fairly tart/tangy boysenberries, fruit skin/seeds, blackberry, raspberry, lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, coriander, hay, straw, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and biscuit dough; with light notes of toast, peppercorn, sea salt, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, pale/wheat malts, and light sea salt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy, fairly tart/tangy boysenberries, fruit skin/seeds, blackberry, raspberry, lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, coriander, hay, straw, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and biscuit dough; with light notes of toast, peppercorn, sea salt, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and coriander spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of fairly tart/tangy boysenberries, fruit skin/seeds, blackberry, raspberry, lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, coriander, hay, straw, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, peppercorn, sea salt, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, pale/wheat malts, and light sea salt flavors; with a great malt/tartness, tangy fruit, and coriander spiciness balance; with no pucker/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/tangy/spiciness. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an excellent fruited gose style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of boysenberries, fruity/acidic yeast, coriander, pale/wheat malts, and light sea salt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp to drink; with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Not overly lactic/salty. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesomely balanced between nicely juicy/jammy berries, Lacto complexity, coriander, salt, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on base style example.
