Raspberry Whango is our 4.9% abv (14 IBU) ‘riff’ on Whango, a wheat beer where natural raspberry adds its signature along with the mango puree, in a crisp and fruity beer, a full palate and a classic American wheat beer that focuses on fruit in its unique and refreshing signature. The grist is comprised of approximately 40% malted wheat, and the German hops we use contribute a soft bitterness. A great beer to pair with a bright salad, and easy accompaniment to almost any sandwich and grilled vegetables.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 11/5/2018. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color wit ha 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy, lightly tart/tangy raspberries, mango, melon, fruit skin/seed, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruits, fruity/light spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy, lightly tart/tangy raspberries, mango, melon, fruit skin/seed, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, banana, bubblegum, clove, peppercorn, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; light yeast spiciness, and fruit/wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, mango, melon, fruit skin/seed, lemon, peach, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, bread dough, toasted biscuit, light banana/clove, peppercorn, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruits, fruity/light spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no astringent hop/fruit flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is an excellent fruited American pale wheat ale. All around great fruits, fruity/light spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp to drink; with the mellowly bitter/tart/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance between juicy fruits, clean pale/wheat malts, American wheat yeast, and earthy hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp hop/fruit dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive base style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect, pretty much perfectly balanced between all flavors.
