16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red/orange, light pink/purple color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/fairly tart/tangy raspberry, strawberry, fruit jam/skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla frosting, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of jelly donuts, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/fairly tart/tangy raspberry, strawberry, fruit jam/skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla frosting, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberry, strawberry, fruit jam/skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla frosting, cream, wheat, white bread dough, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of jelly donuts, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/sugar/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an awesome flavored sour ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of jelly donuts, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Very flavorful for the ABV. Awesome balance of jammy fruit and Lacto complexity; with nice dough, sugar, and pale/wheat malt sweetness against acidity. A really enjoyable offering, and awesome style example. Nailed it for an experimental beer.
