12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/12/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, peach, pear, plum, apricot, lemon, orange, melon, red apple, red grape/wine, peppercorn, honey, candi sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cherries, candi sugar, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, peach, pear, plum, apricot, lemon, orange, melon, red apple, red grape/wine, peppercorn, honey, candi sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness, fruit tang/tartness; and light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, peach, pear, plum, apricot, lemon, orange, melon, red apple, red grape/wine, peppercorn, honey, candi sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cherries, candi sugar, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from spiciness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, acidic/tangy fruit, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 9.8% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome fruited Belgian strong pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cherries, candi sugar, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip with the mellowly spicy/acidic/tangy/drying finish. Very juicy/jammy cherries and balanced Belgian yeast complexity; with a great candi sugar/pils malt backbone. Well attenuated, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
