16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours moderately hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of peppercorn, pine, leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of peppercorn, pine, leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness; light pine, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and peppery Brett spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/sour lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, green apple, white wine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, pepper, pine, light funk/vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and bitter/spiciness balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/acidic, fairly crisp, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a fantastic dry hopped sour/wild ale! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/spicy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Amazing Citra/Ekuanot showcase. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops, balanced Brett/Lacto complexity; and a solid wheat/oat/malt backbone against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
