Dry Hopped American Lager

Citra Local’s is our flagship American Lager but with a fun new twist. Dry hopped with Citra hops, this beer is bursting with fresh grapefruit aromas. Similar complementary hop flavors are perceived within, but without any imparted bitterness. The light pilsen malt creates a soft and subtle flavor profile that finishes crisp and clean, once the initial hoppy perceptions subside.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 7/31/2018. Pours crystal clear pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no yeast notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a fantastic dry hopped pale lager! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly/bitter drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Outstandingly vibrant, juicy, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with perfectly balanced clean pils malts. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected.

On tap at GTMW 2017. Pours a near clear earthy yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a lot of straw and earthy citrus with grains and bread backing. Flavor has earthy citrus, straw and grains with a bit of hay underlying.

12 ounce bottle from the brewpub. Hazy straw yellow, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of lemongrass, lemon, pale malt. The taste is candied lemon, lemon zest, pale malt. Medium bodied, delicate, well balanced. Nice. Could drink this by the gallon on the hottest day of the year.
