16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/20/2018. Pours moderately hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lightly tart/tangy blueberry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, blueberries, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy blueberry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of blueberry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, blueberries, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly resinous/rindy, and slightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is a delicious fruited NEIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, blueberries, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Great Citra/Mosaic profile. Great balance of juicy/dank/earthy hops and authentic blueberry flavors; nice pale/wheat malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from dryness. Identical to the base beer, with added blueberry notes that aren't overdone. A bit more bitter/drying than expected for an NEIPA, but definitely a very enjoyable and well made style example.
