Aromas are toast and malt. Flavors are similar to nose and mildly sweet. Well balanced. Easy drinking. Nice beer.

12 ounce bottle, 4/12/19. Black, large foamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of roast, lactose, chocolate. Taste is roast, nuts, lactose, caramel, chocolate. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet but not off balance. Solid.

12 oz bottle from Tavour. Dark, muddy brown, small beige head. Nice chocolaty aroma, taste brings the lacto sweetness and creamy feel. Roasty malts underlay the whole thing. Nice!

Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 12 ounce bottled into pint glass, bottled on 5/8/2018. Pours slightly hazy nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of nuttiness, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of nuttiness, dark fruit, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a solid hop/roast bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is an excellent milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter finish. Very rich/complex malts with balanced lactose/cocoa nib flavors; restrained English yeast and mild earthy hops against sweetness. A really enjoyable offering, and perfect style example.
