16oz can. Not that great of an aroma, not that great flavorwise. Fully mediocre, like homebrew, or a lackluster brewery from 20 years ago. Cherry, vanilla, caramel. Drinkable, but not that good.

The aromas are some toasted malt with a little old resin hops. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, would be better without the old hops. Okay body and carbonation.

Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, herbal, mint, wood, pepper, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, herbal, mint, wood, pepper, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, chocolate, cocoa, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, herbal, mint, wood, pepper, and floral/grassy/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity and robustness of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. A bit too sweet/heavy, and not very smooth. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a pretty nice red ale. All around good complexity and robustness of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate citrus/earthy hop flavors. Really just too sweet for what I expected, feels more like a brown ale too. Cascade/Fuggle hops probably. Rich malts and solid citrus/earthy hop presence/balance. A nicely enjoyable offering to sip on slowly.

16 ounce can from Ridgeview Liquors. Clear dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, fair retention. Aroma of toffee, raisin, a bit of plastic. Uh oh. The taste is caramel, cherry, dandelion, grass... cranberry comes MUCH later. Medium bodied. Quite weird, and not great. Oh well, need to have a least favorite beer from my favorite breweries. Hopefully it remains this one.
