Rye India Pale Ale. Point Trail "Rye PA" is brewed with just enough malted rye to lend a spicy crispness to an already complex, multi-hopped beer.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 6/16/19. Hazy dark orange, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of strong rye, citrus, toast. Taste is rye, stone fruit, citrus, toasted malt. Medium bodied, well balanced. Quite nice.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent new release. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, spicy rye, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balanced and complexity of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, spicy rye, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, spicy rye, toasted bread, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and rye spiciness balance; with zero astringent hop/rye flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a delicious Rye IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshingly easy to drink, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Never aggressive and not as spicy on the rye as I expected. Nice juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank hop complexity; nice bready rye malt backbone, with mild residual sweetness. Tastes like Columbus, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. A very enjoyable offering, and great style example.
