12 ounce can from Tadych's Iron Mountain, 7/2/21. Labeled simply as Red. MAJOR gusher. Once I cleaned off the table, floor, and my computer, the remainer pours hazy ruse, large rocky tan head. Good retention. Aroma of toffee, cherry, band aid. Taste is caramel, cherry, toffee. Too sweet. Mild bitterness. Meh.

12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber/light copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light nuttiness/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is a very good Irish red ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt; light-moderate fruity yeast, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Just a touch on the yeasty side, but not overwhelming. Nicely clean English malt character, solid earthy hop presence, and restrained yeast fruitiness. A very enjoyable offering, and nice style example.
