Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 12/23/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with light notes of roast, toffee, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, honey, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with light notes of roast, toffee, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of honey, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light toffee, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, honey, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes presence. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth. creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a delicious bock. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, honey, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Very rich and complex with clean Munich/Vienna malt and honey flavors; just enough noble hops to balance the sweetness. On the paler side of the style, but is spot on. A very enjoyable offering.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly hazy copper color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes gradually to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of roast malt, fruit and caramel. Light to medium body with flavors of toasted bread, caramel malt and a touch of hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap at Lost Forty Brewing, Little Rock. Colour is clear dark copper with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Sweetness, honey, dryness, grain and malts. Normally don’t like honey beers but this one isn’t too sweet which is positive.
