500 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin ring of lace eventually. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy pomegranate, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, lemon, lime, orange, melon, green apple, red grape, pepper, wood, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and candi sugar; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pomegranate, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy pomegranate, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, lemon, lime, orange, melon, green apple, red grape, pepper, wood, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and candi sugar; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, tannic fruit tang, and light yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tangy pomegranate, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, lemon, lime, orange, melon, green apple, red grape, pepper, wood, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, candi sugar, leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pomegranate, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness balance; and minimal puckering flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.8%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour/wild ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, pomegranate, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the modestly lactic/tannic/drying finish. Perfectly balanced fruit, Brett, and Lacto; with a nice solid malt backbone to control the acidic/tannic finish. Never overwhelming on any aspect. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
