16 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 5/26/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale straw/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with balanced fruity yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit too fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, apple, cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, fairly grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a decent cream ale. All around solid robustness and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Flavorful for the ABV, but not as crisp and refreshing as it needs to be for the style. Should be cleaner on the yeast character as well. A fairly enjoyable offering.
