Join the Jubilee as we toast 21 years of Victory! This lush and decadent Biere de Champagne has been fermented with Champagne yeast to marry the lively and effervescent character of sparkling wines with the rich, fruit-forward flavors of Belgian-style ales. German Blanc hops impart aromas of pear, apple, and white grape while citrus and spice flavors culminate in a crisp, wine-like finish.

750ml bottle. Slightly milky, orangey golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Zesty, citrusy fruity and sweet-ish, minimally bready, pale malty aroma, notes of orange peel, candied orange peel, a touch of blood orange, marmalade, some apricot, liquorice and rubber overtones; later less citrusy but still fruity, hints of pear, lychee, marzipan. Taste is initially sweet malty, minimally papery, citrusy hoppy, zesty, surprisingly fresh and almost light, notes of orange peel, candied orange peel, hints of lemon zest, marmalade, apricot undertones; later quite heavy, malty, almost a bit boozy; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, emulsion-like, oily to viscous and simultaneously watery texture, soft, sticky, almost tacky palate, antagonistic, prickly carbonation. Dangerously drinkable till the finish, superbly hopped - not that impressive in regard to typical Belgian aspects.

Sampled from a 750 ml bottle this beer poured a effervescent golden amber color with an enormous fluffy orange-white head that towered over the glass, lingered forever and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with honey, dough, pear, peach and white wine. The flavor was sweet with honey, rich mixed golden fruits, bread, white wine and a vague herbal note. Very long finish of honey and golden fruits. Full bodied. Alcohol well controlled.

Sample at The Daily Growler UA. The beer is a clear dark golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of vine fruit, spice and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of Belgian yeast, champagne, spice and malt. The finish is vinous fruit and yeast. Decent overall.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/14/2016. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense, foamy, and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, peach, pear, apricot, orange, grape must, white wine, golden raisin, red/green apple, peppercorn, clove, bread dough, light honey, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, fruity/earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge lemon, peach, pear, apricot, orange, grape must, white wine, golden raisin, red/green apple, peppercorn, clove, bread dough, light honey, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate yeast spiciness and herbal/floral/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, peach, pear, apricot, orange, grape must, white wine, golden raisin, red/green apple, peppercorn, clove, bread dough, light honey, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, fruity/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly warming alcohol for 12%. Overall this is great Biere de champagne, and my first from the style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, fruity/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; very smooth, fairly crisp, and dangerously easy to drink for the huge ABV. Great well rounded yeast and hop complexity; nice malt backbone without much residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Florals and coriander. Champagne vibe like eastern European track suits. Light sweet finish. Great balance. Tap at Maxs.
