Draught @ MBCC'18 [ Blue Session ]. - Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Øksnehallen, Halmtorvet 11, 1700 København V, Danmark. [ As Geuze Boon Sélection ].Unclear medium yellow colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, leather, funky, tart, wood - barrel, lemon - grapes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, funky, barnyard, apple - grapes - lemon. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180511] 8-3-8-3-17

4oz sample at Max's Belgian Fest, pours a clear gold, no head. Nose has lemon, grapefruit, some medicine, cheese cloth. Flavors of lemon, grapefruit rind, oily, some trt herbs. Finishes oily and tart. Good but lacks complexity to be great. 8 2 7 3 13

Tap, Grape & Grain. Hazy straw, coat of white head. A: assertive lemon, bracken, wheaty funk. Light bodied just creamy with lowish carbonation. Not what you'd expect from a normal geuze but very much my sort of texture.4+ Not totally dry nor as sour as expected from aroma. Really refreshing Peach, old lemon, wheaty funk, oak. Very drinkable. Interesting, cask-like.

(Keg at Hilpeä Hauki, 20180929) The beer poured amber and lightly hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, apricots, vomit and sourness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, tartness, apricots, vomit, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, tart and bitter. A pleasant balanced lambic.

Tap at Crowbar, Oslo, 25th September 18. 2nd beer trip to Oslo in 2018. Pours almost clear, slight haze, aroma is tart Apple skin, fresh and tart. Taste is clean, apple, funk, tart, refreshing, pretty good.
