Shared bottle, in snifters. Looks like a typical imperial stout, but that is the only typical trait. Cranberry juices dominates but lends to a thin palate. Just hints of bourbon, chocolate, et al.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/5/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart cranberry, raisin, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toasted oak, dark bread, light bourbon/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, cranberry, and light-moderate bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart cranberry, raisin, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toasted oak, dark bread, light bourbon/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness and light fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cranberry, raisin, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toasted oak, dark bread, light bourbon/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, cranberry, and light-moderate bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness and fruit tartness; lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a very nice fruited imperial stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cranberry, and light-moderate bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Very well balanced between stout and fruit flavors; lacking on the bourbon presence, but you still get nice overall oak character. A very enjoyable offering.
