Bottle at Cedar Point Dark brown with garnet at the edges and a creamy tan head that persists. Light roasted malt with hints of bread and caramel, solid citrus and pine to counter. Pretty tasty beer on a 90 degree day.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate roast/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel and roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate roast/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness; that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and fairly creamy/grainy/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.75%. Overall this is an awesome black IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate roast/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
