Roast and some saltiness. A little coffee. Pours black with pretty good head. Bitter end. Nice for style. Bottle.

Black with a huge foamy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. Roasty, bitter and slughtly sweet with cola, coffee and vanilla notes. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Bottle. Medium brown with an off-white head. Aroma had an almost salt water caramel aroma to it. Taste was sweet, cloying, thick with an sticky after taste.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall lighter brown head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of caramel, robust roasted malts, coffee, earth, grain, peated malt and a dose of shoe polish - quite strong in the nose. Medium-bodied; Assertive bitterness from the roasted malt with a lot of peaty flavours at first then showing some grain, mellow oatmeal and caster sugar, but much more of the pungent and bittering flavours than anything else, even with some minimal sugars throughout. Aftertaste shows some bitter grain, a dose of coffee and caramelised sugars with a lot of nuts and earth with some light brine from oysters and perhaps a touch of salt, but this is fairly mild and the body is quite thin, especially if oysters were used. Overall, a decent enough beer that has some good flavours, but some rough edges, coupled with the more pungent flavours without a nice complexity or depth makes this decent and drinkable, but not worth trying to find or saving for any long periods of time - it's already thin and will lose body over time of course. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 31-January-2018 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 03-August-2018.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with weak salty hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate caramel finish.

Tasty oyster stout from Abita, giving up a good mix of chocolate, anise, roasted malt, and a mild brininess on the finish. Gentle caramel sweet streak underneath, while a firm hop bitterness keeps the pint from growing cloy. Could use more pungent oyster salinity, but drinkable as all hell. Creamy texture is lovely, black-brown pour leaves modest lacing. Enjoyable brew.

Sampled from the bottle at Winter Dabbler. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a tan brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has sweet dark grains with roasted malts, light chocolate and a hint of oyster. Flavor is similar with dark grains, chocolate, and roasted malts supported by a touch of oyster.
