Say Aloha to Treasure Chest 2015, an exotic pink IPA brewed with grapefruit, prickly pear juice and hibiscus flowers. Erupting with fruit-forward complexity, 100% Mosaic hops present aromas of heady citrus and refined stone fruit. The pleasantly bitter flavors of the hops are enhanced by the addition of fresh grapefruit juice. Offering balance to offset the bold citrus notes, prickly pear juice imparts a peppery-sweet kick in the finish. Tropical Hibiscus flowers give this beer a naturally pink hue, a nod to the official color of the Treasure Chest mission.

Sampled on draft at Dad’s Pub this beer poured a hazy orange-bronze color with a medium sized foamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was faint but sweet with piney and lemony hops. The flavor was tangy, somewhat bitter and fairly sweet with piney and fruity hops. Long sweet piney and fruity hop finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

22 oz bottle poured. Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a lasting foam head. Hop forward floral aroma. Flavor is tropical fruit, floral hops, and soft citrus. Very juicy and refreshing. Subtle sweetness. Good IPA overall. Nice addition to an already impressive lineup of Green Flash IPA’s.

22 oz. bottle. It pours a golden color with an off white head. The aroma jumps out with fresh grapefruit, hints of florals and light toasted malt in the background. The flavor has tons of grapefruit with only very distant hints of pear and florals that provide a little extra complexity. Really, this is pretty much a grapefruit bomb in the mode of Grapefruit Sculpin, only this one is less malt heavy and has less bitterness which is why I enjoyed it so much more. Very tasty and worth a repeat purchase.

Bottle from Uptown Market. Pours a clear copper hue, very dark, a large white head. A big tropical perfume nose. Really fun, resin, tropical guava, grapefruit. So damn soft and smooth. Awesome. Yeah, this works perfect. Green Flash is just killing it.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 3/14/2016. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, pear, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops, fruit juice/hibiscus, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, pear, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pine, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops, fruit juice/hibiscus, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops, fruit juice/hibiscus, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
