12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/25/2015. Labeled as 7% ABV. Pours lightly hazy dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pepper, clove, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pepper, clove, pear, apple, light banana/bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery yeast and light herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness after the finish from carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good Belgian pumpkin ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent hazy orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking around the glass.
The smell had some pumpkin and a light glazing of some sweet notes and having a light ginger and allspice note.
The taste was mainly sweet but had a light pumpkin spice that really helped to balance it for the most part.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but still was pretty good to me as it didn’t overdo the sharpness.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good pumpkin ale that I would have again if I could get it. This was the only beer I’ve ever had by Motor City.
