12oz bottle. Earthy caramel typical magic hat yeast tones. Filtered amber-brown body. Foamy off-white head. Medium bodied, pretty easy drinking. Thankfully mellow with the amber malt. Almost OK.

A rich red ale, loads of oily rich maltiness. Slightly bitter, but also mineral-y. Okay beer.

Bottle. Clear reddish with a quickly fading head. Smells of caramel malts, leaves, bread. Taste is caramel malts, copper, green and brown leaves. Meh.

12 ounce bottle. Clear copper, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toffee and grain. The taste is caramel, toffee, berries. Thin-medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Simple, but, a bit of a sentimental favorite.

From a bot a little dull on the uptake. What a simple name. Has a pretty amberish look about it but its not really dark brown. Yes, rather malty. Appreciatively good sizzle. Not bad overall. Decent, went down pretty easy but perhaps a little thinner than an irish ale, WDIK? It hides its alky pretty well in the end but sometimes could be thought of as a little medicinal.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/15/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear deep ruby red color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, light pear/apple, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, light pear/apple, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is a very nice Irish Red ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on to style.
