22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in fall 2014. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and solid balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. A bit too fruity/boozy in the nose. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light coconut, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt/oak spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light amount of dryness present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with light-moderate warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good barrel aged English barleywine style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. With a bit more body and darker malt complexity this would have been better, but was still a nicely enjoyable offering overall.

Bottle. Pours a murky orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots sweet grains and light fruit with a bit of barrel underlying. Flavor has a light fruitiness with some sweet grains, toffee, barrel and a hint of light fruits.
