bottle - Hazy dark gold pour, smells of bready, grainy malt, mild yeast, and apples. It tastes sweet, a bit yeasty, and has some apple tartness. To me the Belgian ale flavor was stronger than the cider. Medium body. Fairly good.

12 ounce bottle into chalice, bottled on 9/26/2014. Pours very hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces too a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, apricot, pear, green apple, light banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, honey, toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cider, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, apricot, pear, green apple, light banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, honey, toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness, bitterness, and light cider tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, apricot, pear, green apple, light banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, honey, toasted bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cider, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a nice crisp malt/yeast/tartness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly tart mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice and unique tripel style. Good complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cider, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy deep orange with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a rich apple note with a touch of tartness backed by sweet grains and a bit of Belgian yeast. Flavor starts with bitter apple grows to have grain and grass backing with a bit of Belgian yeast.

Draft at the brewpub, Sawyer. Murky medium orange-brown body, thin off-white head. Estery nose dominated by circus peanuts or Dubble Bubble bubblegum. Cider is much more prominent in the tart, appley body. Unfortunately the cider overwhelms most of the base beer, although the eaters peek through in the palate and mostly in the finish. Not a huge fan of this beer.
