16 ounce can into tulip glass; no canning date, but is a recent release. Pours fairly crystal clear orange copper color with a small fairly dense off white head with decent retention, that reduces to nothing fairly quickly. Minimal lacing on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, biscuit, pear, apple, red grape, tart red berries, brown bread, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, biscuit, pear, apple, red grape, tart red berries, brown bread, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, biscuit, pear, apple, red grape, red berries, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly slick/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome biere de garde style! All around great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and caramel/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
