Bottle, corked. 2010 vintage. Pours a milky reddish brown with a strong boozy aroma. Slightly boozy cherry flavor with a sweet fruit finish. Definitely a nice aged flavor to it. I was a little disappointed in this. It’s not bad, but wouldn’t call it great either.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; bottle 315 of 3600, 2010 vintage. Pours lightly cloudy red orange color with a 1-2 finger frothy pink head with horrible retention, that reduces to nothing very quickly. No lacing on the glass, and a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart cherry, cherry skin, oak, red wine, light vinegar, hay, funk, earth, pepper, clove, and earthy yeast spiciness. Pretty decent aromas with ok balance and complexity of fruit and barrel notes. Taste of lightly tart cherry, cherry skin, oak, red wine, light vinegar, hay, light funk, earth, pepper, clove, and earthy yeast esters. Light earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of light tart cherry, red wine, oak, cherry skin, light vinegar, clove, earth, hay, and earthy yeast esters on the finish for a while. Fairly decent flavor with ok balance and complexity of fruity and barrel notes; with a fair amount of cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very syrupy, slick, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is a bit unpleasant. Alcohol is moderately well hidden with a moderate warming present after the finish. This is very difficult to drink; have to take very tiny sips. Overall this is a pretty unpleasant Kriek. Decent flavor balance and complexity of barrel and fruit character; but very hard to drink with the alcohol and mouthfeel. I think they would have been better off doing a lower gravity fruit beer for this one. Drain poured the rest.

On tap at Blue Palms (listed as Big Sky Cherry Golden 11%). Pours with a hazed golden body and a small white head. Aromas are sweet with honey, biscuit, pears and a musty/cobweb note. Flavors are big, sweet, and boozy, light cherry and some cinnamon. Estery with big notes of clove. A bit messy. Lively bubbles but a sticky body.

10th rating bottle thanks to JCwattsrugger, pours hazy purple. Lots of oak and sour cherry aroma. Strong puckering cherry flavor is lighter notes of oak, vanilla, and a funky dry finish with some dry red wine character. Not pussy at all, very good.

Bottle 26 of 180 Thanks jake65. Pours out a crisp red amber topped with a small light pink head. Aroma was nice light tart cherries, oak, and some sweettness. Taste was more of the cherries and tartness. Not to bad. This was no Smooz Cherry and yes that is a good thing.

Bottle #26/180: Reddish amber pour with a bubbly beige head. Smells tart, dry, vinous, and of oak. Puckering mouthful with a dry tartness. More oak and some vinous notes. Cherry is there, but not over the top. Might like this more with age...

Thanks to marcus for sharing 1 of 180 bottles. Pours a very dark cherry with a pinkish off-white head. Aromas of alcohol and darkish cherry. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is a little heat, a little darkish cherry. A bit muddled. Should have had it before the Lou Pepe Kriek (no comparison). It is mellow. A bit too much malt? And too much alcohol. But it is a worthy effort. In the future more sour and less alcohol. It does improve with time.
