A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is very sweet with light notes of caramel and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of toffee and caramel, leading to a dry end with notes of nuts.

Who’s that lady? Check out the flowers in her hair and.... if it was possible, has an attractive goat face like a female ram. Brown 12 oz bottle. Nothing about the pour is special except it is a medium brownish color, not scarlet as expected. Smells like a hint of candy apple or cotton candy. Flavor commences with a kind of hoppy or malt flavor then almost fades into a hint chocolaty smoothness. Finish is not offensive but lingers, tho not bitter, with a little hops malt roastyness. An oily texture?

Clear copper color with medium tan head. Aroma is a combo of malt and hops. A nice flavor of grain (biscuit or lightly roasted) Marris Otter malt and a fair amount of hop bitterness. Hits the ESB style quite well with some nice added body and malt flavors. Works well.

I was surprised to see that I had not rated this one yet as I have had quite a bit of it over the last year or two. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma is fruity, sour and has a bit of nut and moderate fruity hops. The flavor is sour nut with a tangy and lightly fruity character and a dry hoppy finish. Tasty if a little uninspired.

Clearish copper orange body, thin off-white head. Earthy, biscuity aroma with caramel and light fruit. Sweet, fruity, caramely body with grassy, earthy hops mostly as a backdrop. Almost a hint of strawberry in here. Rather thin-bodied but still tasty. Thanks Dan (jah noth) for the bottle!

Deep copper color with hints of red. Thick creamy head. Virtually no aroma or flavor. Watery and thin. Needs more malt and hops.

2004 bottle. Pours a medium dark copper-mahogany. Fine oat colored head. Aroma of light dusty earthen hops. Soft toffee and a light nuttiness. Flavor was soft, lightly bitter and quite mild. The malt is easygoing, mainly a caramel profile, with a bit of a loose, lightly watery texture. Finish was the best though, quite English, no use of highly bitter alpha hops, just soft and pleasing, with a nice clean end. Unlike the American take on these, this one is not that bitter, which is more authentic and more enjoyable to me. No huge complexities here, but a solid ale and quite drinkable.

Reddish-copper color - almost no head, very low carbonation - slight hoppy and bready aroma - flavor is like a very malty pale ale - pretty sweet, but almost no hops/bitterness - rather thin, leaving nothing much on the palate but a slight hop flavor, making you wonder why the hell you couldn't taste any hops before you swallowed - bland bu drinkable.
