Imperial Malt Liquor Aged in Bourbon Barrels

Too Classy for a Paper Bag. Here you have what could be the first malt liquor worthy of a glass. Typically a slighted style, we thought we would class it up with a stay in the wood and a healthy dose of dry-hopping. A huge hit of corn gives this one a smooth sweetness while its time spent aging in bourbon barrels will give you reason to share. Be warned: this one will kick you where you most expect it.

Bottle @ Patricks. Slightly unclear golden brown body under a small tan head. Nice aroma of malt, caramel, dry fruit, wood and Bourbon. Taste is sweet with dry fruit, malt, caramel, wood, vanilla and bourbon. Kinda balanced with a Port/vinous type of booze. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Solid sipper.

Draught. Ambery deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is vanilla, wood, some bourbon, toffee and a wee bit of alcohol. Flavour is toffee, vanilla, some fruity tones with mild alcohol sweetness too. Still very smooth to drink, even though a bit warming.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of apricots, oak wood, coconut, vanilla, toffee, nuts, caramel and orange. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, oak wood, bourbon, coconut, vanilla, apricots, toffee, nuts, orange and a mild peppery bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, sweet. Sweet and boozy, but quite complex and really tasty with a good bourbon character. Very nice.

35,5 cl bottle @ Naamat. Batch #1629, BBE 26.06.2018 Aroma has vanilla, strong sweet malty tones and ripe fruits. Feels heavy. Flavour has gluey tones, alcohol, toffee candy. Finishes wirh sharp-ish alcohol. Heavy and somewhat stuffy, not that great drinkability. But kinda works as slow sipper.
