Bottle from Havnens Vin & Tobakhus (BBE January 2025). Pours opaque dark brownish black with small light brown head. Aroma is intense roasted malt, rum, vanilla, cognac, light smoked ham, pepper, prunes and dried apricot. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter and light acidic. Body is oily and almost flat. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with notes of roasted malt, ground coffee, Schwarzwald ham, campfire smoke, tobacco, canned pineapple, and dried apricot.
Even though this beer is past the BBE date, the style should be capable of long storage. I am disappointed.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is strong peated with dark roasted malt, whiskey, wood, tart fruits with pineapple, touch of smoke, and a hint of cognac. Flavour is mild with some sourness. Body is medium to full. Nice enough, but it sounds better on paper. The peated whiskey dominates.

Bottled. Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some roast, mild toffee, chocolate, mild herbs and some peated and peachy tones. Flavour is chcolate, smoke, peat, some zest, liquorice, peach and some toffee tones.Barreling has actually made this go quite nice. Mild warming alcohol to it, but not burning.

Bottle. Black. Dominant peat in the roasty aroma, malty sweet roasty flavor with licorice, peat, pineapple. Some distant vinous notes. Lacks balance, but the taste is good.

Ultra oddball beer, had to try it. Bottle at Brasserie V. Oily whiskey chocolate aroma. The coffee and barrel take center stage, the pineapple is mild and subtle. For 10.5%, it is really clean, not sticky. Lots of depth, surprisingly not a mess.,,well sort of. The oily coffee tones really start to dominate, whiskey sort of balancing and complementing it. Very unique.

Appearance- black, with a small beige covering. Aroma- lots of whisky and boozy notes, woody, dark malts, coffee, burnt treacle, chocolate, vanilla. Taste- very sweet and boozy, tar, burnt toast, roast malt, liqueur chocolate, rich coffee, treacle, booze-drenched dark fruit, trace of cardboard. Warm boozy finish, smooth mouthfeel, lingering bitterness. Touch on the boozy side.
