American style IPA won the Gold medal for best beer int he World at the 2010 World Beer Cup.
Awards have been won, pints have been drunk, but when it comes down to it, this beer keeps you coming back for more hoppy goodness.

Draft - Fresh sweet grapefruit. Clear gold with a decent white head. Fresh leafy hoppy notes, bitterness throughout, pithy and a pleasant sweetness. Nice.

On tap at Champps - DTW. Pours a clear light amber with a small white head that leaves generous lace. Nose is grass and pine with citrus and biscuit in the background. Good level of bitterness throughout with grapefruit and spice in the dry finish. Medium mouth with active carbonation. Malts could be a little bit more forward for balance, but good overall.

Several 16oz cans in various glasses. Juicy citrus taste, mild hops, bitterness with nice sweet grassy finish. Good value at $7.99 for 4.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no canning date, but was released recently in cans. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange/lemon peel, citrus rind, pineapple, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, light bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/pine hop and light-moderate malt presence; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, orange/lemon peel, citrus rind, light caramel, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of bright hop flavors with light-moderate malt presence; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around good complexity of bright hop flavors with light-moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. --- Beer merged from original tick of Norm's Raggedy-Ass IPA on 25 Oct 2013 at 20:37 - Score: 8. Original review text: Great IPA!
