Fun fact. I've had some really good hefeweizens from China - from both the national brewing school in Wuhan (absolute textbook example) and from German-run brewpubs in Beijing and Shanghai. Can Tsingtao do it, too?
This one has the dull appearance of oxidation issues, which quite frankly is beneath Tsingtao. Aroma is in the ballpark of sticky, banana-oriented hefeweizen. On the palate, okay, it's not that bad. It's way too sticky, but the banana esters are decent here, and the wheaty acidity is abundant, cutting through some of the stickiness. I can see what they are trying to accomplish. It's still too sticky for me, but I get it.
I can absolutely see drinking this out of one of those sidewalk tanks in Qingdao with a plate of clams.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di cereali. L'intensità olfattiva è normale, permanendo in maniera sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di aspetto opalescente e anche qui la grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è non invadente. La forza gustativa è normale e la durata è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Il finale è amarognolo. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Al palato si attestano indizi di miele, cereali, agrumi e banana.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Bananas, some spices, yeast and mild earthy tones in the aroma. Flavour pretty much has the same elements as the aroma, but finishes quite thin and watery. Could do with a bit more alcohol.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & hrabren, thanks! Yellow/pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, light wheaty fruity nose. Sweetish malty, wheaty, light caramel and touch of banana with sweetish finish. Surprisingly ok.

Bottle from the African store, Savska, Zagreb. Clear, shiny pale golden body. Big estery aroma, apple-pear, bit wheaty and caramelly. Big apple-pear ester and caramelly, sweetish, clean. For a Tsingtao, pretty good.

0.33 l bottle thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Unclear golden-yellow, small off-white head. Fake fruity candy aroma, hints of banana, ripe apple and dried apricot. Grainy, sugary also. Light body, moderate to high carbonation. Soft texture. Finishes a bit sweet.
