@Nederlandse Bieren Festival Delft - Smoke comes through quite a lot in the aroma although it’s more muted in the taste. It’s quite sticky. There’s plenty of bitter, roasted malts inn the flavour along with that ever present smokey edge.

From a 33 cl bottle shared at home. Pours black with a thick tan head. Slightly sour aroma. Flavors of sour cherry, chocolate and a hint of licorice. Highly carbonated, almost champagne like. Bitter finish.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter. Pitch black with a huge, tanned head. Roasted aroma with rich malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and licorice. Smoked malts and peat. An yeasty-fruity note. Taste is sweet. Full body, thick feel, soft carbonation. Finishes dry with peat, smoked notes and rich chocolate. Rich and satisfying.

Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, karamell, torkad frukt med toner av laktris och rök. Fruktig och med tydlig beska.

330ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium head. Aroma is salt, peat, beef and liquorice. Taste has cola and peat to start. Mild peat and liquorice finish. Beefy aftertaste.

33cl bottle pours a watery, opaque black with a lot of frothy, beige head. Nose has licorice and peat, brown bread, burnt caramel. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, rubbery, peat, chocolate, lightly medicinal, nail polish. Full bodied, boozy finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a medium creamy brown head that slowly dissipates leaving nice lacing. Aroma is smoke, peat, whiskey, dark roasted malts, coffee, cigarettes. Anise becomes more apparent on the nose as it breathes. Flavor is about the same, very light sweetness, medium smokiness, some smokey astringence as well. Light bitter coffee finish with notes of anise coming through, but fortunately not too strong. Medium body. Not a huge fan of the anise here, but otherwise a nice beer.

Bouteille 750ml, courtoisie de SlovakSniper. De couleur brune-noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti et fumé (jambon fumé), léger de chocolat noir avec des notes fruitées (raisins), de réglisse noire et de houblon herbeux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement huileuse et aux petites notes crémeuses. Goût amer de malt très rôti et légèrement fumé (fumée de bois et jambon fumé, traces de fumée de tabac) dès l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un léger goût de chocolat noir avec des notes de réglisse noire et des traces fruitées (raisins). Parallèlement, un léger-moyen goût d’alcool ainsi qu’une amertume de houblon herbeux aux petites notes résineuses se rajoutent progressivement pour dominer la finale avec le caractère rôti. Post-goût long et un peu sec, amer de rôti aux notes brûlées, moyen de houblon herbeux aux petites notes résineuses, léger-moyen d’alcool ainsi qu’avec des notes fumées et de chocolat noir.

Et øl med en skarp ubestemmelig smak. Noe skarp på smak og skarpere på ettersmak. Et godt øl til riktog rett.
