Fantastic deep and rich, heavily peated, deep malty with a thick and slightly sourish finish. Machine oil, deep roasted peated, rich, viscous, fantastic.

Bottle, 2024 Beer Geeks Beat ALS edition. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, smoke, hints of coffee. Taste: Quite dense and smooth mouthfeel. Roasted malt, quite a lot of smoke, some peat, coffee and dark chocolate. Hurray, the old De Molen quality seems to be back for a moment... Moderate to over moderate sweet and bitter. Below average carbonation, over medium body. Nice one!

Bottle. A- Smoke, wood, peat, old leather. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Smoke, umami, wood, molasses, leather, faint espresso. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish. O- Wow, this was awesome stuff. Wish I could find so much more. Drank with around 4 years of age I believe and the balance was perfect. Very smoke forward but I love that, for some probably too aggressive. Probably not a perfect beer but for the flavor and the setting it was drank it, it was pretty perfect to me.

Bottle at Monk's: pours black with brown head. Aroma is peaty, roasty, burnt, soy sauce. Taste is umami, smoke, fire. This is a very intense beer. I like it. But it is intense. 2016 bottle... good for 25 years.

Bottle from Daily Delis, Amsterdam. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of beef jerky, soy sauce, black olive, burnt wood, toast, fondant, coffee bean. Taste has sweetish prune & pear in a dark-chocolatey, toasty, nutty malt body with a bitter coffee note and an earthy-umami, smoked-meaty side. Earthy hoppy finish, toasty, quite roasted, lingering salty-smoky meat, tobacco and soft peated whisky-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Rich, expressive and elegantly peated.

Leicht erhöhte Karbonisierung. Rauchig malziger, intensiv würziger Beginn. Schokolade, deutliche Herbe eher im Hintergrund. Mild bitter, weiter schokoladig, deutlich rauchig bleibend. Etwas Alkohol, langer Nachhall. Gut! 10/11/11/12/9/11

Black color with low beige head. Aroma: smoke, bacon, chocolate, licorice, dark chocolate, bacon jam. Taste: dark chocolate, bacon jam, licorice, molasses. Full bodied, low to moderate carbonation, moderate to high bitterness. Complex, sweet and smoky, excellent sipper.

Bottle. Pours black, with a medium, frothy, brown head. The aroma is caramelized sugar, beautiful peat smoke, figs, rye, and kola nuts. Sweet and sugary, with a hint of bitterness. Heavy body, with a creamy, grainy palate. This is a decadent, unique, and delicious beer.
