Come to the dark side and give our Black IPA a try. All the hop flavor you’ve come to expect in an American IPA with a touch of rich, roasted malt.

12 ounce bottle from State Line. Clear dark brown, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, floral hops. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, piney and floral hops. Medium bodied, creamy, mild lingering bitterness.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours very dark brown with a tan had. Aroma of dark malt and perhaps a spice note. There’s something in the aroma besides malt. Med body. Flavor is dark malt and mild floral/spicy? hop. Malt is possibly a tad chocolate. It seems pretty roasty. Trying for pine, but perhaps it’s only in my imagination. Not wholly dry and mildly bitter. Rather relaxed IPA. Not sure I like "harsh" black IPAs anyway.
