A mid-summer pickup of this brew at the local craft beer store, time and weather are good to try it. No previous knowledge of the brewery, I have been to McKinney, nice town. I am pouring into my ABGB tulip glass, why not? Cola colored and possessing a complementary light tan head, it presents decently. It smells of raisin and grain, slightly astringent but I’m here for the drink. I detect dark fruit, malt, sort of yeasty, crackers. Not bad, glad I had it, but not my cup of tea.

Bottle: Pours black with a huge, whipped, dark tan head. Fudge, mild licorice, nutty aroma. Taste is sweet, rich, dark chocolate malt.....prune, molasses... Thick, rich, malty...with a well-mannered alcohol presence...smooth. Great stuff.
