An Englishman’s first love is his brown ale. However, in the summer he often fancies blondes instead! With this inspiration, we’ve created Newcastle Bombshell, an English style blonde ale. The combination of Cascade, Hellertau and Northdown hops balance this golden coloured ale’s light aroma and bitterness with toasted malt to ensure a silky smooth finish. After one sip of this brew, we’re sure you’ll agree she’s a real bombshell.

Pour is a clear yellow with a average white head. Aroma started out with some burning but that left quickly and what was left was some dry cracker malt. Flavor is again some dry malt, roasted nuts and I agree with the rater below me picking up some coffee notes. I was expecting some bland flavorless blonde ale but the flavor was a big surprise.

A- a very clear light gold pour with a good inch of foam, good lacing.
S- a very grassy smell, hints of malt, that turns grainy with more whiffs.
T- starts off very grassy, some bready/bisuit notes, grainy, not bad but the finish lingers on and on with the grass; seems to be sticking to my tongue. ;^)
M- fairly light bodied, medium carbonation.
O- not a bad brew except it's on the dear side cost wise.
I see from the label that they uss e kinds of hops: Cascade, Hallertau, and Northdown. I've never heard of that last one.

12 ounce bottle from a Kroger. Pours a clear pale amber color with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of pale malts, grassy hops and a bit of skunk and butterscotch. The taste is herbal hops, toasted malts and a bit of caramel. Tinny note as well. Medium bodied. Seems like a decent concept that is poorly executed.

how cum only 10 ratings? why me the priv? smells like clean slag from J&L. quite sharp but in a lager way. some fruit in there. decent co2. has a very acceptable alky impact, smooth yet beery in a good way. starting to like this brown bottle. better than expected. finish says I could drink another. grows on yah. likeable.

Pours clear gold with a large, rothy, white head. Aroma is very light....vanilla, faint lemon. Taste is mild vanilla, honey, toffee. Dry finish. Not too bad at all.

Bottle thanks to Nustu. Pours golden with a decent creamy white head and the slightest amount of bubbles. The nose has butterscotch and toffee with an astringent maltiness. The taste has honeycomb and more malt astringency. The palate has a medium body with a creamy texture and unfortunately a cloying finish. Overall, this is very sickly and not really much sign of the hops they were touting.
