Ice cider. ABV will vary significantly from one vintage to another. Malus Danica is a cryo-concentrated cider, containing apple varieties Ingrid Marie Cox Orange, Filippa, Fiery Pigeon, Elstar and Jonagold. Each apple variety was picked at optimum ripeness and immediately pressed into must. This must was then frozen in a cold storage. The freezing and subsequent thawing at 0 degrees outside, concentrated the musts to a viscous apple syrup which slowly cold fermented in the winery for 12 months. The result is an intense apple experience with high acidity and syrupy apple sweetness that fills the mouth with flavor and surprise. Malus Danica should be enjoyed chilled, 5-8 degrees, for good cheese, dessert or just as an experience in itself.

clear yellow, msall white head. quite boozy and alc. bitter aroma, a little pear and apple. flavor is concentrated apple and pear flavor, citrussy notes, bitter sulphurish notes that drag it down a little, but still a very good ice cider (as all ice ciders ihave tasted)

Bottled. A pale yellow cider. The aroma has notes of alcohol, apples, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, lemons, apples, apples, and acid, leading to a dry acidic finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a thick and syrupy golden. Tart and intense apple nose with quite some booze coming through. Medium-bodied, very soft mouthfeel, tart apples - actually very acidic - very fresh and flowery. Alcohol not so present in the flavour. Interesting and nice, but far from the complexity in the best Canadian Ice Ciders - and way too tart. 200812

Bottle, 375ml, 2010 vintage. A clear, golden cider, flat. Lots of apples on the nose, sweetness, indicating that it will be well suited for dessert. Some apple cores and a touch of something spicy as well. Rather sweet on the palate, yet with a fruity acidity making sure it’s not cloying in any way. Apples and sugar flavor. Lasting finish. A pleasant one indeed, but there’s something lacking. Or maybe it’s the acidity, don’t know. Well, wouldn’t mind drinking more of it. 120817

Bottle from Chas. E, year 2010. No head. Color is golden. Aroma is intense apples and quite sweet. Taste is initially sweet, then turns quickly to a nice biting sourness, that gives it a nice freshness. Warming finish that probably stems from the alcohol.
