This beer is called Heksen & trollen, that translates as Witches & Trolls. Why? We know why but we don't tell! The beer is a Saison, an old Belgian and northern France beer-style. At high temperatures fermented to make it very spicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus in the taste, but with a bitter finish. Light cloudy, blond. Formally known as White Witch

On tap @ De Spuit, after The Chills’ gig in Paradiso. Pale yellow color, cloudy. Firm dense white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s of citrus, hay, hops and sweet spices (anise springs to mind). Flavor is moderate bitter, mild, with light fruity sourness. Medium bodied. Somewhat dry moderate herbal/spicy bitter finish. Very nice and refreshing.

Tap at 2014 OBF. Pours hazy gold/orange with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma of earth and mixed fruit. Med body or so. Flavor is earth, fruit, herb. Mild flavors, but no doubt this is a saison. Finishes earthy, fruity, slightly hoppy.ginger,

On tap at Arendsnest. Hazy yellow colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, some spice, nutmeg, dry, light fruity. Flavour is bitter, wheat, dry, spicy, zesty, citrus, light pine, firm bitter almost herbal finish. Light-bodied. Nice.

Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Pineapple, lots of it, nice spicy character, citrus, light grass, dry bitter and spicy finish with white pepper. Overall not very sweet, in a fruity way. Medium bodied, lively carbonation and dry feel. Very nice.

Tap @ de Molen, small sample. Slight hazy yellow to golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma of peppery yeast, slight citrussy hop, bit wheat, bit flowery. Medium bitter in taste, slight dry. Nicely balanced and smooth, quite refreshing. Good stuff.

Draught @ De Molen. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma is very fresh, lightly hoppy, lightly yeasty, nicely citrussy, grassy. Tastes about the same: lightly yeasty, nicely citrussy and grassy hops. Decent body, average to medium carbonation.
