This beer is called Heksen & trollen, that translates as Witches & Trolls. Why? We know why but we don't tell! The beer is a Saison, an old Belgian and northern France beer-style. At high temperatures fermented to make it very spicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus in the taste, but with a bitter finish. Light cloudy, blond. Formally known as White Witch

Lightly hazy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Mild minerals. Very light malts. Nice balance of mild herb, slightly sherbet lemon and a little floral sweetness. Light finish. Very nice clean saison, very easy drinking. Best straight saison I’ve had in yonks.

Bottle 330ml. @ home on the terrace. [ As De Molen White Witch Saison ].[ Courtesy of Flaskedrengen ]. Unclear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, moderate to heavy yeasty, citrus, fruity, funky, white pepper, light leather. Flavour is moderate sweet, light acidic and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, spicy - white pepper, fruity - citrus yeast, fruity, yeasty, light fruity citrus tart, light funky. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20140731]

Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2014. 33 cl. bottle. Rocky white head, hazy yellow beer. Nose is very nice, mellow wheat, citrus hops, soft fruits, touch tropical, light sweetness. Nose is very nice but taste disappoints, muddled, thick yeast, murky wheat, citrus, banana, sugar, touch lactic, floral messy. Murky body, touch higher carb. a missed opportunity.

Some lace left over hazy yellow-orange beer. Very nice, fruity nose with citrus and exotic fruit. Kumquat, nectarine, guave. Bit lame taste, compared to the nose. Still, a bit of fruity esters, good hopoils. Medium bodied, quite slick, but carrying a bit empty finish. Better than an ordinary wit. Doesn’t make it great, alas.

very hazy pale yellow colour, huge white head; aroma of citruses, floral hops, minimal grassy and tropical fruity notes, bread, hints of caramel and earthy notes;taste of malty sweetness with fruitiness, grassy hops, yeast, and spicy notes; really good and convincing saison

Tap at the brewery. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is zesty citrus. The flavour is light acid citrus with a mineral earthy light aspirin fruit palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.
