This beer is called Heksen & trollen, that translates as Witches & Trolls. Why? We know why but we don't tell! The beer is a Saison, an old Belgian and northern France beer-style. At high temperatures fermented to make it very spicy and refreshing. Lots of citrus in the taste, but with a bitter finish. Light cloudy, blond. Formally known as White Witch

Keg at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 25/09/14. Hazed golden orange with a well appointed off white covering that looks a treat. Nose is citric peel, light yeast notes, lemon sherbet, grassy tones, light spice. Taste comprises lemon rind, light hop presence, floral trace, water melon, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok saison.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity and light spiced, peppery and coriander. Fruity and light sweet. Smooth fruity and sweet finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Very fruity, flowery aroma with a distinct yeasty note. Light, dry body with a solid dose of bittering hops. Quite some yeast and phenols, but not in a disturbing way. Not too shabby. 090914

Clear pale blond beer, small creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, lemony, sourish impression, tropical fruits, citrus notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lemony, melon and watermelon, pretty watery, bitter touch. Aftertaste: more melon flavoured candy, weird, soft bitterness.

Little cloudy pale blond to yellow beer, big creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, some exotic fruits, sugary, banana, bit spicy, ripe mango. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit hoppy start, quite some banana, sugary, bit of citrus, grassy, hops, grapefruit. Aftertaste: pineapple, citrus, some passion fruit, bit sugary, spicy, some banana, bitter ending. How in the name of Bacchus is this a saison?
